Online Data Entry vs Traditional Data Entry

Online Data Entry vs Traditional Data Entry

There seems to be a lot of confusion these days regarding Data Entry Jobs. Most of the offers you see out there now are for 'Online Form Entry' or 'Type at Home'. While most of these opportunities are legitimate forms of the industry, they are a far cry from Traditional Data Entry Processing as we know it.

Since Home Data became a part of the Internet world, the description of the business has taken on a whole new meaning. The work that you actually do when you sign up with most of these programs is typing ads for companies that in return pay you when someone clicks on that ad and purchases the companys' product.

While these types of offers are a legitimate form of the business, they have been tagged as 'scams' by many people. I think the reason for this is the way the offers are advertised. Instead of referring to them as Data Entry Jobs, I think they should be called Ad Typing Jobs or Affiliate Ad Marketing. When people know what they are getting up front they will be less likely to call something a scam.

This is why it is important to research any work at home opportunity thoroughly before you hand over any money. Make sure you understand exactly what the company is providing you, be sure they offer a money back guarantee, and the most important element is a way to contact the company with questions or support.

I would advise everyone to contact the company before you sign up with them to be certain that they provide good customer support. If you don't get a response or if the company offers no contact information at all, then skip it and move on to the next one.

It seems that Traditional Data Processing kind of got lost in the shuffle once the industry hit the Internet. Included in this category are jobs such as phone transcription, outsource operator, medical coding, proofreading, data collection research, document recording and more.

These are the types of jobs that I think should and can be safely advertised as 'Data Entry Jobs'. The good news is that these traditional information processing jobs are still very much in demand and readily available. While most of these can be done with little or no experience, some of them do require a bit more skill.

This is where good research comes into play again. You should be looking for a company that will provide you with training in many different areas of the business. They should also include any software or other related items that might be needed to do the job properly. And most importantly, they should provide you with access to the best jobs they have available so that you can get started making money immediately after your training.

So what do you say we all give the Home Data Business a fair chance. After all, if 99% of all these jobs are scams, (and I have heard some people say this about all work at home opportunities) then why would Honest people - myself included, continue to promote these offers? The answer is simple. Because it's just not true. If anything it is the complete opposite. I believe that 99% of all work at home opportunities are legitimate.

It's that 1% we have to work on. If marketers and consumers work together, perhaps we can rid the internet of that 1% of scams that continually threaten to give the Work at Home Industry a bad reputation.
