Getting the Best Results From Search Engines

Getting the Best Results From Search Engines

Many computer users today only know how to use a one word search which is OK if you are looking for one specific item, but to really optimize your search in a more broad area there are little tricks you can implement such as using Boolean search. This will help you find articles relating to this, that, and others. For example; if you are looking for the "best areas to hunt deer in Kansas", you could type in a search to broaden your results such as; hunting, Kansas, deer or you can use this method; hunting+Kansas+deer.

This will help you gain better results in a more broad way. You could also just type in "best areas to hunt deer in Kansas". Using Boolean in my experience is the best way other than using sentence type searches. Learning how to get the maximum results from your searches will save you time and will allow you more time to focus on the areas of your interest. Test each example of searches given in these examples, as you will see using the Boolean method will turn up better results for your research.

Not only have you learned how to get better results from using the search engines, but you can share the knowledge you have with friends, family and co-workers and others that are not familiar with how to get the best results from using the search engines, and help them save time in finding what they are looking for and they in return can pass along to others what they have learned.
