The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed a new chairman to head the Bayelsa State gubernatorial primary election committee.

The party’s NWC on Tuesday approved the appointment of retired Brigadier-General Mansur Dan Ali as the new chairman of the committee

Dan Ali replaced Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, who supervised the previous primary that was later cancelled by the party

The election is expected to hold on Wednesday at Samson Siasia Stadium

Oshiomhole had in his report to the national headquarters of the APC that election did not hold last week Tuesday as thugs took over the electoral process even as the police were helpless.

Meanwhile some members of the panel were scared of heading to Bayelsa for fear of their lives.

The Extraordinary Power of Information in a Downsizing World

The Extraordinary Power of Information in a Downsizing World As Chris Crouch stated so well in The Contented Achiever, many companies are experiencing a cutback in workforce, but not in workload! For the employees left behind to pick up the pieces, accessing valuable company information becomes increasingly complex -- whether it's a password, the name of a vendor for a product purchased years ago, or vital information about an important client or prospect. The computer, while originally touted as the ultimate organization tool, has in reality increased our ability to create a faster mess! Being disorganized creates inefficiency. Inefficiency costs money, causes unnecessary stress, precipitates poor customer service, and ultimate loss of sales. Here are five essential questions to ask about the information in your business: 1) What information do we need to do business? 2) Who in the organization needs access to that information...

Why is the use of these strategies essential in running a company? Are employees not enough to ensure that company data is well-managed and that all information is reliable? These questions are mostly asked by large companies in reference to data security and information stability. Up until now, the common mistake of large international firms is that they rely too much on manual work. Not that this is wrong, but they tend to ignore the reality that the use of some technologies unloads manual work, which results to increased productivity and guaranteed high quality and accurate data. When management of business information is made manually, no employees can guarantee accuracy. It's prone to human error as they say. "Accidents" can happen anytime. This is especially tru...

Eco-Friendly Construction - More Information Needed For General Public

Eco-Friendly Construction - More Information Needed For General Public There has been a little bit of debate out on the Internet about the issue of lack of substantive information about green construction and eco-friendly building materials. Indeed, I agree that there is not enough information about efficient eco-friendly construction, but I have seen a lot of local seminars at Community Colleges, SCORE, Chambers, Cities, and Universities in the last 6-months. The unions are also getting involved because they of course wish to be the ones certified to build this stuff. Tilt up industrial buildings, downtown facades and such have come a long way in the past 8-years. It is a better way to build things, but it also has its critics. One group, ELF - "environmental liberator front," terrorists, burned down some luxury homes in Washington State saying they were hurting the environment when actually they were the latest in eco-building ...
